AI governance
What is AI governance?
AI governance is the set of policies, controls and records that decide which AI tools, models and data may be used, what agents are allowed to do, and who approves what.
Why it matters
Without governance, AI spreads as unapproved tools and one-off agents that nobody can see, secure or audit. Good governance makes it safe to give agents real responsibility.
Example
A company allows two approved AI assistants, records every agent action in an audit trail, and requires a person to approve any payment or customer-facing message.
