Human-in-the-loop
What is human-in-the-loop?
Human-in-the-loop is a design in which a person reviews, approves or decides at chosen points in an AI-run process, usually where mistakes would be costly or hard to undo.
Also called: HITL
Why it matters
Putting a person on every step wastes the gain; putting a person on none is reckless. The skill is placing people exactly where judgment and risk are, and making each approval specific.
Example
An agent drafts the payment run, but a person approves every payment over a set amount and every new vendor before money moves.
